What’s good shufflers! It’s the start of another week and time to listen to some new music, but first, we’re going to appreciate a legend.
Artist of the week: Elle Varner
Elle Varner is one of my favorite singers of all time. She went 7 years between releasing projects with a few singles here and there but her singing voice and aura have been one of my favorite things to listen to over the years.
Project of the week: Perfectly Imperfect
From start to finish, Elle Varner does the damn thing on this. This album was so good that it held fans over for years and years before her other project release. My favorite songs on this are “Damn Good Friends” and “Sound Proof Room”.
Songs of the week
Jalen Santoy - No Peace
Jalen Santoy is underrated as hell. Most people know him from his song “Foreplay”, but don’t sleep on “No Peace”. The next time you show appreciation for North Carolina rappers, throw his name into the mix.
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You
Stardust only made literally one song, but damn does it freaking slap. 100% hit ratio. You can’t get better than that. This reminds me of the dance floor. Remember dance floors? I do.
SG Lewis - Feed The Fire (Official Video) ft. Lucky Daye
SG Lewis and Lucky Daye combine to make a great track in Feed the Fire. This team up put me down an SG Lewis rabbit hole that I was so glad that I found. The way SG Lewis adds a feeling of bounciness to every song is so welcomed and delightful.
Westside Boogie - Outside (ft. Joey Bada$$)
Westside Boogie and Joey Bada$$ are two of the best rappers that we have in the world today. I’m glad that they were able to team up and perform on this song. Outside is one of the smoothest songs you’ll hear. I still can’t believe that Joey Bada$$ is only 26. He’s been in the game since 2012. He’s one of our generation’s best talents for real.
Anik Khan - Big Fax
Anik Khan brings such a fun energy to the rap game. His lyrics and music videos are so exciting and full of creativity. Splashing onto the scene a few years ago, Khan has been very selective with his releases, but when he does drop it hits.
Sample of the Week: 7 rings by Ariana Grande
‘7 Rings’ is one of the most recognizable Ariana Grande songs. AXL Beats, CZR Beats & 808 Melo decided to take this and turn it into one of the hardest Pop Smoke songs in Mannequin.
I NEVER thought I’d hear Ariana Grande on a drill best, but I’m glad we did.
OMG.
Thanks for the heat magic man
